Historia

A true jewel of elegance set between hills covered with Mediterranean growth and the Gulf waters of Gaeta, “Villa Irlanda Grand Hotel” is a direct link to the exclusive world of ancient villas and private vacation sites.

The Hotel was born from a detailed restoration of five buildings located inside a stunning park of sixty thousand square meters:

–  “The Villa”, neoclassic in style, built in 1912 by Earl Stenbock, cousin of Russia’s last Czar;

–  “The Convent”, built in 1930 by the Irish Papal College, within which are to be found mural paintings and the splendid Ciborium;

–  “The Sisters Residence”, paved and decorated with hand painted ceramic tiles;

–  “The Orange Residence”, situated in the most inner part of the gardens of the turistc complex . In liberty style it preserve an original “dovehouse” and the serene atmosphere of the ancient country houses.

–  “The Reception”, built amongst the well visible walls of a 1st Century B.C. Roman villa owned by Marco Filippo, father of emperor Ottaviano Augusto.

The Hotel’s fortyeight rooms of which six are representation suites are all furnished with telephone, air conditioning and heating system, mini-bar, radio ,colour television with remote control and satellite channels and Pay Tv. In all, capable of offering a unique comfort complimented by the wonders of the architectural detail and the fine charm of furnishings in styles appropriate to every room.

The park contains two swimming pools, one of Olympic size and the other of shallower water with a hydro-massage. Both are surrounded by a large solarium and tree lined lawns.

All parking areas are guarded and are within the hotel grounds.

The murals found in the “Sala del Ciborio”, the ruins of the ancient Imperial villa and the valuable inlaid marbles floors, are an ideal setting for receptions, banquets and conventions. Three rooms furnished with audio-visual equipment are available for hosting meetings and work luncheons in a pleasant and refined atmosphere.

The cuisine rich in ancient gastronomical traditions and a lavish dining room confer to this structure the prestige of exquisite hospitality.
